The Glasgow Science Festival 2013 Starts Today. Naturally!

Glasgow Naturally

Glasgow Science Festival 2013 begins today with a busy schedule of events for all ages!!  Highlights include “Science Sunday”, a free event taking place at the University of Glasgow, Hunter Halls on June 9th between the times of 10:00 and 16:00.

A whirl of activities has been designed to shortcut you into the vast range of world-class research happening right here on the campus.  You’ll find science shows, workshops, equipment and almost endless opportunities to get hands-on.  There’s a special opening of the Hunterian Zoology Museum to celebrate all things birdy – so don’t miss out on the live bird-of-prey show!   :O

Drop in the Hunterian Art Gallery to unravel the history of our understanding of cosmic rays – radiation from the far cosmos – and the connections between solar phenomena, cosmic rays and the Northern Lights.

Visit Kelvingrove Museum and peer into rainbows by building your own spectroscope!  Explore the natural world with experts from Amazonia, the Clipperton Project, the RSPB, the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde.  Why not enter your best science-themed cake in the Big Science Bake Off competition and share your favourite photographs and memories of Glasgow parks in the ‘Parklife’ exhibition.
